Our task last week and this week was to decide what would happen for the 3 little pigs if their house in Lyttelton Christchurch was struck by a 8.9 Earthquake. First, the students drew a picture of what they believed the house would look like. Most students drew a pile of rubble. They then shared these on their blogs. The second task was to create a 3D model of where the pigs would move to within New Zealand. To help the students they had a map of the faultlines and tectonic plates. After constructing the model the students chose what sort of terrain would be in the area they had chosen. Based on that the houses were then placed in an earthquake simulator. Check out their blog slides with their videos embedded.

Exploring Blogs
This week in our Cybersmart lesson we were exploring blogs. We had to find information from other student's blogs as well as statistics. We compared the blogs by putting the information in a table.
Do you have a blog? How many blog posts do you have on yours? How many visitors have you had on your blog? We are thinking of ways to get more traffic on our blogs.
Here is Aimie's work from today. She has thought about her blog. Look on slide 4 and 5 for her ideas.

Kawa of Care and Quality Blog Posts
In our Cybersmart lessons we have been aiming to share quality blog posts.
Here is Camille's work. Do you think this is a quality blog post? Please read it and comment on Camille's blog here.
Today I was learning about the kawa of care and how we can take care of our chromebooks. We watched a video about how we can take care of our chromebooks. I pretty much knew most of the things it said in the video, but i did learn a few new things. I learnt that we shouldn't pile things on top of our keyboards because, if we do they keyboard might break and not function well. The kawa of care is a list of rules we should follow to make sure our chromebooks do not break and malfunction.I enjoyed making the kawa of care slides and i also enjoyed learning about how we can take care of our chromebooks. I also liked how we have the kawa of care because it helps us be safe around our chromebooks and to take care of them.
I found it challenging to type the down the text in time. I also found it challenging to take my picture of my face because the classroom was a bit too bright. I also found it hard to find the right keyboard picture because there kinda weren't that much options to choose from.
My digital learning object shows I can add words to shapes, replace images with my camera app, use the Explore tool to find images we can reuse, change backgrounds and change fonts.
Next time I would change the slide colors to more cooler tones so it would look more pleasing to the eye. I would also change the keyboard picture and my photo.
