Using Screen Casitfy to problem solve

Today we were using stop animation to create our own stories. We hit a technical glitch where the stop animation videos would not load on our blogs. I first tried uploading to youtube but they took hours to upload and process. So our third and best attempt was to use screencastify to play our animations on the screen and then add them to our blogs.

We are learning how to create stop animations

This week we are learning how to create stop animations and add them to our blogs. This will be used as a new way of being able to present or display our learning when we are creating.

Clarify new words

Today I was learning to clarify new words.  My digital learning object shows my word poem.

I enjoyed making the words fit the shape of a plane.

I found it tricky coming up with lots of words

Next time I would like to make my poem like an animation.

Easter Animation

This week in our Cybersmart lesson we created an Easter stop motion animation in Google Slides.
We used Ctl+D to duplicate slides.
We used the arrow keys to move our egg slightly on each slide.
We could preview our animation by presenting the lides and using the arrow keys.
The end of the slides was a surprise.

2021 Online Profile

We have been working on our online profiles so we can update our blog details.

We had created a visual online profile with Google Drawings a few weeks ago. Then we wrote a more descriptive profile in Google Docs using Voice Typing last week.

If you look on the right-hand side bar of our blogs you will see that our WHAKAAHUA | PHOTO is now our 2021 photo. And right below it is our KO WAI AHAU? | ABOUT ME gadget.

All our student blogs are listed in the right-hand side bar labelled NGĀ ĀKONGA | STUDENTS.

Quality Blog Posts - Chromepets

This week we were editing our Chromepet blog post to make sure they were quality blog posts.

We had to make sure we have reflected about our learning, added an attention-grabbing title, put labels in and embedded our Chromepet drawing.

You can read all our blog posts by clicking on the student's names in the side bar of this blog.

Kawa of Care - Chromepets

Today we were comparing caring for a pet with caring for our Chromebook.
We thought that we feed our pet food so we feed our device power by plugging it in.
Some of us thought that we carry our pet gently so we carry our device with two hands in a hug hold.
Some of us thought that our pet is entertaining to be with and we use our device to learn with.

We were using drawing tools in Google Slides to create our Chromepet.
We used an image of a Chromebook as the face.
Lots of us added shapes to create the rest of our Chromepet.
We inserted an image by searching for "fur" then masked the image to make the body of our pet.
Here is some of our work from today. We haven't quite finished our creations.
Next week we will be posting these on our own blogs.

Exploring the 'e' sound

For spelling, we are learning the code! We had to explore the long e sound. We used answer garden to record our words as a group. Next time we would have to be careful to say the word out aloud to make sure that it does not make the short e sound.

Crime Scene

Last week we were learning about forensic science. Today we had a crime scene we had to analyse. I enjoyed learning about the crime scene. Next time I would want to have another crime scene to anlayse.
